Breaking News: FIGMENT Dallas plans first year for 2018.

Figment Dallas is a free public festival with all self funded, participatory, local art projects. This new, day-long, interactive art event will happen in Reverchon Park. This annual festival is outside and features local artists creating interactive and participatory visual artwork, performance art, offering amplified music, costuming options, large scale sculptures, immersive environment installations, art cars/bikes, hands-on creative workshops, and video installations. No vending, no artist stipends, no sponsors/logos, nor VIP areas. Open to the public and free for all ages

FIGMENT seeks to continue its mission to offer free, inclusive and participatory art to entire communities, removing the barriers of museum and gallery walls and entrance fees and blurring the lines between those who create and those who enjoy art. Founded in 2007 on New York City’s Governors Island, what began as a few thousand enthusiasts enjoying a handful of participatory art projects on a sunny July afternoon has ballooned into a multi-day, multi-city event that drew over 30,000 participants in NYC, Boston, Jackson, Detroit, Chicago, Oakland, Austrailia, UK, and Toronto.

What:

FIGMENT is an explosion of creative energy. It’s a free, annual celebration of participatory art and culture where everything is possible. For one day this Fall, we will transform Reverchon Park into a large-scale collaborative artwork, and then it’s gone, without a trace.

When:

Saturday, October 20 — 10AM – 10PM

Where:

Reverchon Park

How Much:

What to Expect:

How to Help:

We invite people to sign up to volunteer to help at the event, and sign up for our mailing list for continued opportunities to help out throughout the year.

If you enjoy your experiences at FIGMENT, please make a donation to help make it happen!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

LEAVE NO TRACE: We adhere to a “Leave No Trace” ethic, and ask you to do the same. If you bring it with you, either bring it back or make sure it gets into a trash receptacle.

NO TRANSACTIONS: One of our goals is to create a social and creative experience uninterrupted by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. FIGMENT does not sell anything, and does not allow commerce of any kind.
